The shelves in Miele's refrigerators are made of strong, scratch resistant, easy to clean glass that will bear up to 25kg. The glass holds the cold, making for more efficient chilling, and prevents spills from trickling down through the fridge.

The large freezer drawers are enclosed on all sides to prevent the cold from "falling" out of the freezer when the door is opened. They slide in and out easily, even when fully loaded and are specially designed not to tip. Above and below each drawer is a cold plate so the frozen food is sandwiched between layers of cold air. All drawers can be used to freeze down fresh food. There is no need to freeze it in one drawer and then transfer to another for storage.
